I have for sale an original and very rare French infantry Shako helmet from the Restoration Period. The helmet is in wonderful condition for it's age.

The helmet bears an 1816 pattern helmet plate, which consists of a Crown surmounting a cartouche, bearing three Fleur-de-Lis and knight's heads finials.

There is bullion tape around the top crown area of the hat, a wool felt body and black velvet bottom tape. The body of the helmet is an 1822 pattern.

Present is the original rayed Cockade with a Fleur-de-Lis at it's center.

Also, articulated chin-scales with Fleur-de-Lis retainers. A pressed leather brim at the front of the helmet. It is missing it's pom pom.

Internally, there is an 8 fingered helmet suspension liner.

Helmet showing wear and patina commensurate with it's age, but in very good overall condition.
